Goodnight Moon VT – Relaunch

I’ve been working on Goodnight Moon’s website over the last month to help them make a big sales push over Labor Day. They’ve got a new WordPress site with a custom theme and search engine optimized content. I’ve set up an adwords campaign that is generating a ton of leads, as well as a YouTube channel. I’ve installed a couple of forms for customers, and a tracking phone number to show how many phone calls are coming from the website. To tie it all together, they get weekly reports showing traffic, visitor location, and how many leads my internet marketing has generated, and a ton of other info. Their website traffic is up 400% and climbing since the relaunch, and people have been calling from all over the Northeast.

This is hopefully the first of many mattress store websites that I’ll be building as part of an offering I’m calling ZZzWebsites. I’ll be building a case study with Goodnight Moon over the next couple months, and will use that case study to sell internet marketing to more mattress stores in the near future. Chuck Hughes is the official distributor for Maser Austria Turtlenecks in the US. His new search engine friendly website features an online store built with Google Checkout, a store locator, a few pages outlining Maser’s product offerings, and a simple contact form.

The site is built on the WordPress platform, which allows the client to log-in to easily edit and add content, check webstats, and more. We’ve also configured Gmail email services on the maserusa.com domain, and have installed Google Analytics with automated reporting to keep on top of web traffic and business trends.

This is all included in our core website package and costs $799 onetime + $49/mo

Within days of being online, there are already orders and email inquiries coming through the site. As the business grows and we move into the peak turtleneck retail season, we may consider adding SEO services, and move from Google Checkout to a self-hosted online store.

Setting up a site on WordPress

I am in the process of setting up this website, here is the basic process for any of you that might be curious…

Install the latest version of WordPress .
Find a suitable theme with the proper rights. I use themes that are free, can be modified to my taste, and that can be used for businesses
Configure the wordpress install to have the proper url structure, figure out hierarchy, make pages.
Install plugins. I am currently in the process of activating and configuring Sociable, All-In-One SEO Pack, Google XML Sitemap, & Contact Form 7. You can find these and more plugins at WordPress.org/extend/.
Write compelling content chock full of SEO keywords and calls to action… I am avoiding this part by writing a blog post. Back to work.
