Two website designers working together on a computer

I think that we are special and unique because of the personal touch you can get. A website can be built in so many places today, but what you don’t get with any of those experiences is someone to help you understand what’s going on, but also help guide you on the right course. At Bytes, we take a collaborative approach to our projects. That’s my opportunity to lay out the vision for a build, which is the creative side. So the why are we doing what we’re doing, here’s what the client is wanting and here’s why we’re doing it. Then is the developer’s opportunity to be able to talk about, okay, here’s how we start with collecting information, collecting those ideas, brainstorming, coming up with the vision. And then we look at, kind of, what are the dependencies, what are our external needs, who do we need to work with to accomplish this, what is the platform we want to use, the tools that we want to construct this project from, and then we get into building. That’s the fun part, right? In every build, we’re looking at comparable sites, we’re looking at your competitors, we’re looking at your industry examples and we’re seeing, you know, what are ideas of inspiration that we want to take from that.

So, our goal is to empower our clients to be able to use the tool that we built for them. So we don’t want our clients to have to call us for every little change, to say, “Oh well, can you change out this text or swap out an image?” We want our clients to be able to do that. It is left brain, right brain, creative and execution. There really is not one without the other to have a successful marketing strategy and to execute your website successfully. So that’s what I see as where we really are different and deliver value, is that being a full-service agency, your website can be part of the larger cohesive marketing plan and really operate as a whole unit as a machine to bring your sales.

Our Website Design Process

Research & Planning

Assembling the Parts

  • Client Questionnaire – Tell us all your hopes and dreams for a new site!
  • Kickoff Call – Discuss website objectives, identify users, explore technical requirements, and get inspired with design ideas.
  • Keyword Research & Sitemap – Informed by web best practices and user search data.
  • Deliverables List & Project Timeline – The roadmap for building your new site. Consider this the project’s design and technical spec.

Content & Website Design

Form Defines Function

  • Content Migration Plan – We’ll identify the best method for effortlessly populating your new website with either existing or new content.
  • Mockups For Key Pages – Our web designers will create mockups for you to review. This is when you get to see your site take shape with drafts showing your site’s colors, fonts, text, and images.
  • Accessibility Considerations – We’ll provide documentation on how to ensure your content is accessible to all users, regardless of ability.

Website Development

Where the Rubber Meets the Road

  • Front-End + Back-End Development – Our website developers will ensure your site not only looks good, but functions well both above and below the hood. A fancy new paint job on a car is great. . .but unless the engine runs, it’s not worth the investment.
  • Cross-Browser & Responsive Web Design Testing – We check your site across modern browsers and devices so that it looks and works beautifully everywhere.
  • Website Training – We’ll show you how to use the site we built. This website isn’t meant to be left in the garage to collect dust. We want you to be able to take it the distance and we’ll show you how.

Refine & Client QA

Applying the Finishing Touches

  • Final Refinements – Copy edits, updating images, troubleshooting, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Prep for Launch – 301 redirects, final site QA, testing form submissions, and accessibility review.
  • Final Client QA – We only launch when you’re ready. When we have the final green light from the client, we can hit the gas.

Launch & Maintain

It’s Go Time!

  • Launch – Before the site goes live, we view it locally, run through a QA, and confirm all is looking and working as expected.
  • Google Analytics Goal Tracking – We will set up or QA Google Analytics goal tracking for key events like user form submissions, calls, purchases, and more.
  • Google Search Console – We’ll submit your sitemap to Search Console so Google can begin indexing your new site.
  • Transition to Website Support Team – Launching your new site is just the beginning of a wonderful relationship with the Bytes.co team! Like with a new car, keeping your site running smoothly requires regular maintenance. Think of our website support team as your new site’s trusted mechanic.

From Our Portfolio

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a project go from words on paper to a fully functioning, beautiful new website that our clients are overly ecstatic about. I have the best job I could ever ask for.
